Frequently Asked Questions
Do you take custom orders?
Absolutely. Most of what I do starts with a conversation. Whether it’s a knife, leather piece, or something else entirely, I welcome custom work. A deposit is required to begin the design process, and final pricing will be confirmed based on materials, time, and complexity.
How do I place a custom order?
Use the contact form or select a “Custom Order Deposit” item from the shop to start the conversation. I’ll follow up with questions to understand what you’re looking for and what options will best suit your needs.
What’s the turnaround time for custom pieces?
It depends on the piece and my current workload. Smaller forged or leather goods may take anywhere from a day or two, or 2–3 weeks, while more involved items like, bags, or custom knives may take 4–8 weeks or more. I’ll give you a more accurate estimate once we’ve finalized the design.
What if a product is sold out? Can I still order it?
Yes! Some items have a backorder option — this means I’ll make the piece once your order comes in. Wait times for backordered items are clearly stated in the product description (usually 2–3 weeks), and I do limit the number of backorders I accept at one time to make sure each piece gets the attention it deserves.
How do I know what size belt to order?
Check out our sizing guide for tips on measuring a belt you already own, or how to get an accurate fit if you’re not sure. If you’re still stuck, feel free to reach out — I’d rather take the time to get it right.
Do you offer repairs or modifications?
If it’s a piece I’ve made, yes — I’ll do what I can to repair or adjust it. Reach out with a photo and a description and we’ll talk options. If it’s for a well-loved piece already in your collection — a blade, tool, or training weapon that’s earned its keep — I offer restoration and maintenance services through the Katana Spa.
Whether it’s a new handle wrap, a refreshed edge, or just some thoughtful TLC, I’ll help bring it back to life while preserving the character it’s earned. [Learn more →]
Can I request a different finish, engraving, or personalization?
Absolutely. Many of my pieces can be personalized — from stamped initials to alternate materials or finishes. If it’s not listed as an option, just ask.
What materials do you use?
I source all of my leather and thread locally from OA Leather Supply, using their OA Original line of premium Canadian materials. Built for hard use and honest work, these leathers and threads are the foundation for everything I make.
Blade and tool steels are sourced from Maritime Knife Supply — a trusted Canadian supplier. Wrought iron is reclaimed locally from old wagons, anchor chains, and other remnants of the past, giving each piece a story as solid as the steel itself.
What is Reiki?
Energy Healing:
Reiki is rooted in the concept of universal life force energy (ki) that flows through our bodies. Practitioners believe that when this energy is blocked or stagnant, it can lead to physical and emotional imbalances.
Hand Placement:
During a Reiki session, the practitioner gently places their hands on or near the client's body, often in specific positions. This allows them to channel the universal life force energy to the client, helping to restore balance and promote healing.
Complementary Therapy:
Reiki is often used as a complementary therapy alongside traditional medical treatments. It's not intended to replace medical care but rather to support and enhance it.
Potential Benefits:
While scientific evidence for the effectiveness of Reiki is limited, many individuals report experiencing benefits such as stress reduction, relaxation, pain management, and improved mood.
No Harmful Side Effects:
Reiki is generally considered a safe and non-invasive therapy with no known harmful side effects.
Not a Cure-All:
It's important to understand that Reiki is not a cure-all and should not be relied upon as a substitute for qualified medical advice or treatment.
Do you offer trades or sliding scale pricing for energy work?
Yes. I value my time and experience as a healer, and the listed rate reflects that. But if finances are a barrier, I’m open to fair trade or alternate value exchange — reach out and we can talk about what you have to offer.
